In America the Center for Civilian Internee Rights has campaigned also to have Congress consider three issues: the payment by the Japanese Government of reparations, the expression by the Japanese Government of a formal apology, and the release by the relevant Federal departments and agencies in America of the documents relating to the horrific experiments conducted on prisoners by the Japanese biochemical warfare detachment, Unit 731. The Resolution introduced in June 1996, if not passed before the November election, will be reintroduced in the 105th Congress.
