A brief overview of the European integration and relevant organizations, their institutions, bodies and programmes is presented, along with the structure of their official Web sites and relevant Internet addresses. Attention is primarily devoted to the European Union and the Council of Europe, covering also significant subregional associations (EFTA, CEFTA, Central European Initiative), security structures (Partneship for Peace, Western European Union) and, to some extent, global organizations and institutions.
Europe House in Zagreb was established to expedite the institution of European legal, social and economic norms in Croatia with a view to Croatia's integration into Europe, to which it belongs geographically and by tradition. It provides Zagreb with a link, through the International Federation of Europe Houses (FIME), with 100 cities and 24 countries in Europe which have such an institution.
Research and Training Centre for Human Rights and Democratic Citizenship is a self-sustaining unit of the Faculty of Philosophy University of Zagreb. It aims at promoting interdisciplinary research and training in education for human rights, democratic citizenship, cultural pluralism and peace at all levels of Croatian education. The tasks are carried on in co-operation with similar institutions from Croatia and abroad, including intergovernmental and non-governmental organisations.
