Description
St. Francis friary and church on the Island of Cres is one among many friaries pertaining to the Croatian St. Jerome’s Province of Franciscan Conventuals. The friary is a true monument of culture, religion, and art. Franciscan friars came to the Island of Cres back in the 13 th century, establishing their original abode on the present location, which, obviously, went through many alterations and additional construction over time, but has preserved its historic continuity until the very present day.
