University of Rijeka, University LIBRARY Rijeka The library holdings of the University Library Rijeka are based upon the books of the Jesuit College that was founded in Rijeka in 1627. Today s University Library in Rijeka started working in 1949 as the Scientific Library of Rijeka. Since its foundation, the Library has been providing services primarily for researchers and students from the region. In 1979 the Library became a member of the University of Rijeka.
