Description
SLAVONIAN MOUNTAINERS is an association of voluntarily affiliated mountaineering associations, members of the Croatian Mountaineering Association of Slavonia, Baranja and West Srijem, Osijek-Baranja County, Virovitica-Podravina County, Pozega-Slavonia County, Brod-Posavina County, Vukovar-Srijem County Daruvar and Novske. It was established to coordinate the work of mountaineering associations and organized mountaineering activities with a special emphasis on the ring of the Slavonian highlands, and based on delegated rights and duties of members. The Association SLAVONSKI PLANINARI (SP) was formed by changing the name of the SLAVONIAN MOUNTAINERS ASSOCIATION, whose activity continues without interruption (decision of the Office of State Administration Obž dated June 23, 2016) SP is an associate member of HPS. The SP continues the tradition of the Mountaineering Board of Osijek County, established on November 30, 1962, which in 1965 grew into the Mountaineering Board of Slavonia (POS), registered as a Mountaineering Union of SLAVONIA (PSS) in 1988, and renamed in 1993 to the Slavonian Mountaineering Association (SPS). ). SP is the manager and maintainer of the SLAVONIAN MOUNTAIN ROAD, the first Croatian mountaineering bypass, opened on July 27, 1957.
